Other important information

For California Residents: We will not share information we collect about you with nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by California law, such as to process your transactions or to maintain your account. For our everyday business purposes, we may share your personal information with ACH processors, service providers and the credit reporting agencies. You cannot limit this sharing. Notice Regarding Text Messages and AI-Assisted Communications

This section supplements, and does not replace, the privacy notice above. It describes additional practices related to text messaging and any automated or AI-assisted communication tools we use to service your account.

Text Messaging (SMS/MMS) Communications

If you provide us your mobile phone number or otherwise consent to receive text messages, the following applies:

  • Consent: By providing your mobile phone number to Monterey Financial Services, LLC and expressly consenting to receive text messages through our website, customer portal, account enrollment process, or during an interaction with one of our customer service representatives, you agree to receive transactional and account servicing text messages related to your relationship with us. These messages may include account notifications, authentication or verification codes, payment reminders, payment authorization requests, customer service communications, and other information necessary to service your account. Messages are sent only for the purposes for which you have provided your consent or initiated the request.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your account activity and servicing needs.
  • Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Charges are determined by your mobile carrier.
  • Opt-out: You may revoke your consent to receive text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by contacting us at 800-456-2225. Reply HELP for assistance. Opting out of text messages will not affect your obligations under your account agreement.
  • Carrier liability: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Use of mobile information: SMS consent and mobile phone numbers are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information only to service providers as necessary to deliver SMS messages or as otherwise permitted by law. Your mobile number is used solely to service your account, consistent with the sharing practices described in the notice above.

AI-Assisted Customer Service

We may use automated or artificial-intelligence-assisted tools (such as chat features, virtual assistants, or voice systems) to help respond to customer inquiries or service your account. Where these tools are used:

  • Disclosure: We will clearly disclose when you are interacting with an automated or AI-assisted system rather than a live representative, and you may request to speak with a human representative at any time.
  • Scope of use: AI-assisted tools are used only for customer service and account servicing purposes (e.g., answering questions, providing account information, and routing requests). They are not used to provide legal, financial, tax, or credit counseling advice.
  • Data use: Information shared during an interaction with an AI-assisted tool is handled in accordance with the data collection, use, and sharing practices described in the notice above, and is not used to train publicly available third-party AI models.
  • Human escalation: If you express a request for a live representative, or if the system detects a request involving a dispute, hardship, or complaint, your interaction will be escalated to a human representative.
